Don Pepe in Chester

I always eat here when traveling up route 95. Very authentic Mexican restaurant. If you are near Chester VA make sure you stop here and eat.

I've been to many Mexican restaurants is this has been, by far, my favorite. The staff is amazing and friendly and the food is delicious. They offer a variety of food and beverage options. The best part? The salsa. You'll never want to buy salsa from the store again after you taste their's. My favorite is a tie between the white and regular, but the cheese dip is also good. (You can also get salsa and chips to go as well, it's great for celebrations and parties.)

Definitely one of the best "hole in the wall" restaurants. A friendly staff, they are accommodating of all issues you or your kids may have. Food is priced right and tastes amazing! The salsa taste great, and can be bought to go, its worth it. Have eating here at least a few times since moving to the area. Always worth it and can't wait to go back again. It does get busy on the weekends. But once you go you will see why.

Great family running this restaurant! We have come to know several of them and they keep us coming back even though we've moved away. The food is great and a good variety. Their Frozen margarita is amazing. Clean and efficient operation. Plenty of parking and clean restrooms. Indoor and outdoor seating.

Fantastic salsa, and even more fantastic food!The salsa is very clearly made fresh, with cilantro and garlic pieces visible, making it perfectly spicy without being burning.The Enchiladas Blancas were so fresh and flavorful, the chicken was insanely tasty and hot and fresh, and the cheese sauce was delectable~

Don Pepe is my absolute favorite restaurant. The food is delicious and consistently good every time I eat there. The staff is wonderful. They are fast, efficient and make you feel like family. I love them! ❤

This place is Awesome. From the salsa all the way to the main course!!! It's as good as any place I have ever been. Shrimp Chimichangas were delicious.

I'm giving two stars due to the waitress. We specifically told the waitress what we needed, seating wise and she did not even listen. Sat us next to where we wanted. It was not busy. We were the only 3 people on that side of the wall. We moved to where we wanted, she came over and asked "did you move?" I said yes and she got an attitude without further explanation. Then the service was sparce from that point forwards.

This food was soooooooo good and service was awesome I had the Burrito Texano which had steak chicken shrimp rice and beans covered white white cheese sauce and topped with lettuce and tomato but I didn’t get lettuce 🤤

Our favorite Mexican restaurant in Chester by far. The food is always fresh. Try the brisket tacos...or any of the taco combos. They're different and delicious! Just spent our son's 6th birthday party here and their bday song was so colorful- including instruments! Definitely check this place out!

Always always always amazing food and service here! This is the go to spot for some great Mexican food! All at a very reasonable price. The Gouda sauce that was on my burrito was so well done. Great portions! They make you feel like family.

Absolutely amazing Mexican food! Speedy service and admirable attention to customers needs. I had the Brisket tacos 🌮. I thought it wasn't going to be enough but it eas just the right size for lunch. The lunch prices are GREAT! This place was packed for lunch and can be a bit congested for those who eat with large groups. Well worth your visit.

This place was amazing! Five stars for sure. First, the server was super attentive. He got my order immidiately and grabbed what I asked for right there and then; which made me feel like he was there only for my table. I ordered hand made guac and the Don Pepe Burrito. The burrito actually came out before my appetizer of guac. This didn't make me upset, I was astonished though. The burrito was DELICIOUS! I could eat a ton of those. And there was two guac options: 1.) Guac 2.) Handmade Guac. Get the handmade guac, it is worth it. I can't think of anything negative about this resturaunt.... Great job! Keep it up!

I've been around the world. Seen all 50 states. Don Pepe makes my top 3 best chipss and salsas I've ever had.

This place is top notch. I am slowly making my way around the menu. Everything I have had is phenomenal. I would recommend the chori papas for anyone who has never been.

Don Pepe's has really good food. They also serve the white sauce with the chips which is a major yes for me.

Me and my wife hit all of the dollar taco nights locally and this one is our favorite. Salsa is very good and can’t beat $8 for a date. I don’t know if the people working there know us but they’re all really friendly and act like they do. Food is easily the quickest of all Mexican restaurants. Usually 5 minutes and all our tacos will be on the table. Some people complain about the lack of Mexican authenticity but in general it’s all Americanized anyway so why not enjoy the fact it’s tasty and cheap? Highly recommend this restaurant and you might see us in there as we go at the minimum once a week. Picture is of brisket tacos ($2 splurge from regular tacos)

This is the best Mexican restaurant I’ve ever been to. Wow! The food is fast and it taste great!!! The drinks are really good and you definitely get your money’s worth. My boyfriend and I come at least 2-3 times a month. Waiters are nice and genuine ❤️

The chips so chewy and the salsa is so gross it's inedible. Soggy as f#$ food . Just a waste of money all the way around.

Ok Folks. I've been to a hundred different Mexican restaurants and I never had service this fast. Literally, hot food in front of me two minutes after I spoke the words to my waitress...and the place was busy. Food was great, and was exactly what I expected. You CANNOT beat the price either. This is my wife’s experience! Not good!!! ...today (Tue, lunch time) [how do you mess up a soft taco and chicken cheese quesadilla!?!] They sure did. The ckn cheese quesadilla was missing ckn, and there was a little bit of something unrecognizable in there. She sent it back, but the same yuck one came back with some dripping wet chicken stuffed in it (now with more fingers all over her food). Did not eat it. The taco was cold, like it was left on the counter for a while. Needless to say, she did not eat lunch today.

My first visit and everyone in our group loved it! Relaxed atmosphere, attentive service, and the food was superb! There was a special menu the day we visited, Cinco de Mayo, so I've included that, but there is an extensive menu that can be viewed online.

Visited this establishment many times. The food is awesome. However, the three stars is for the fact after calling to place a to go I was asked to hold and I kindly did but after 10 minutes of being on hold, I was hung up on. I tried to call back three times but phone was busy and being against the clock and little time, I had to go somewhere else. Very disappointed.

Best Mexican food on the Southside of Richmond. Period.

We had the strawberry margaritas, queso with the chips and I had the carnitas. Plenty of food, you won't leave hungry!
